The \u201cGruppo Storico Sbandieratori e Musici della Nobile Contrada Trinit\u00e0\u201d was founded in 1972 in Soriano in Cimino. These skilled flag-throwers, accompanied by shrill clarion fanfares and stirring drum rolls, perform exhibitions of the ancient medieval Art of the Flag, creating highly technical choreographies with swirling of multicoloured flags for an enchanted public.<\/p>\n
Today, the Group consists of 16 flag-throwers, 10 clarions, 16 drums and a standard-bearer. In its 45 years of existence, the Group has performed in the central squares of numerous Italian and European cities, always to great acclaim.<\/p>\n
The Group has been part of the Italian Flag-throwers League since the early years of its foundation. In that time it has achieved many prizes and event placements, including second place in the Italian Championships in Sarzana in 1982, victory in the “Assolo Musici” speciality in 2014 at the Gallicano Championships and the recent title as Best Italian Under 18 Company won on 4 June 2017 at the Chianciano Terme Championships.<\/p>\n
The exhibition organised for the 50th Edition of the Chestnut Festival is a celebration tribute for the Group’s 45th anniversary.\u00a0 The current members have chosen to commemorate the evolution of the Art of the Flag, reinterpreting choreography and music that have been long forgotten. The Group will perform four exercises, reviving marches from the 1970s to more recent pieces, through which we can relive the historical development of Soriano nel Cimino’s \u201cGruppo Storico Sbandieratori e Musici della Nobile Contrada Trinit\u00e0\u201d.<\/p>\n
